Inner City/Outreach
Apartment Ministry was started when Pastor Hood was serving at the Fresno Rescue Mission as a Chaplain. One day going out into the community giving out bread to low income apartments he noticed drug sales going on with gang members. He went into the office and asked if he could help with the problems. The office staff responded, "...Yes, yes we need someone to help up..." They then gave Pastor Hood the right to use an empty apartment to hold Bible Studies. The Swimming Pool to do Baptismal and a free reign to go door-to-door and invite them to service. Every Tuesday night we had Bible Studies, and handed out groceries to the needy families. During the summer, we held Baptismal Services one a month. The fame of Apartment Minitry was heard at many other apartments within two years. Many apartment owners were calling and asking can we come help them.
